The photographer Dorothea Lange said 'The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.'
On Friday, October 10, I waited for a bus at the SOUTHGATE Shopping Centre bus stop. In spite of a lifetime of photography it took me twenty minutes to finally look up and see this image of the expansion of the shopping centre and the installation of the new sign. I was not carrying a camera as such, but I had my iPhone. Its 2.0 megapixel 'camera' captured '..UTHGATE.'

Hello Jerome,
The link you have to Dorothea Lange is well worth the visit. I have seen "Migrant Mother" and like many people believe that it is one of the most haunting photos of The Great Depression. But I had not seen "Hands." How could that photo not move you? Despair, yet strength and hope that springs from having people who care about you.
