I've been travelling in Montana, Nebraska and the Dakotas for the last week and have been delighted to find that all the hotels at which I've stayed have had free wi-fi – and it's wireless. It also works well, without dropped or slow service.
We'll see this become normal in Canada as well. Cities will also provide wireless free in their downtown areas in order to attract the creative class that Richard Florida has been telling us about.
Charging for wireless in hotels will become equivalent to charging for colour TV.
