I'm at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge participating in the trade show at the Library Association of Alberta annual conference. It's a very popular place for tourists and those who want to get away from regular activities for a few days. The food and the service are excellent – and it's quiet and secluded.
Tod Maffin reminded the participants this morning that they should use high-tech in their libraries and low-tech in their personal lives. Tod is an excellent speaker with a lot of experience in the highs and lows of technology and multitasking. He spoke for more than an hour and received a standing ovation at the end of his presentation.
Technology, however, offers me the privilege of being in touch with friends, colleagues and the rest of the online world while staying at a fine resort and conference centre.
