Alberta Foundation for the Arts E-Cards Promote Alberta Art

My thanks to the Alberta Foundation for the Arts for featuring a photograph of mine (which they purchased several years ago) as one of twelve works which ‘…represent the excellence and diversity of the AFA art collection, a treasure of more then 8,000 works of art that represents the talents of more than 1,700 Alberta artists and the growth of the visual arts in Alberta.' 

These twelve images have been featured on e-cards during 2014. AFA would be delighted (and so would I and the eleven other artists) if you were to go to AFA Art Collection/E-Cards and send a card before the end of the year. I expect that new cards will be available in the new year.

Thanks, AFA, for promoting and collecting the work of Alberta artists. 

 

FORM: an exhibition of photographs by Jerome Martin

Thanks to all the people who joined Merle and me to celebrate this exhibition in October, 2014. Thanks also to those who purchased my work; I hope that you continue to enjoy having it in your home or office.

The 42 photographs in this exhibition did not have captions. FORM was the focus of the exhibition and the reason these images were chosen. The photographs were made in Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Mexico, Nebraska, South Dakota, California, Kenya, Uganda, France, USA, Japan, and Ireland. 

One of the benefits of creating and exhibiting photographs is seeing how people react to them, and discussing the images with visitors during and after the exhibition. We listen: we learn: we plan our next exhibitions and projects. Artists, be they musicians, writers or visual artists, need to share their work with audiences to complete the creative cycle.
